Hi, through a deal at work, I have an option to pick up a Dell Inspiron 15 7577 for £899.10. Specs are:-

i7-7700HQ
16GB RAM
256GB SSD
1TB SATA
GTX 1060 6GB

I believe this is good value for money, but as I havent bought a laptop in ~7 years would appreciate thoughts on this. Is it worth it? Are there better alternatives? Should I wait for the 8th gen chips? etc.

Thanks for any advice

looks like the same spec is available for £999 directly from dell new and one in their outlet store for £925 . The "work" deal is probably a saving based on the original RRP of £1369 making you thing its a deal but when you compare it with current actual market price your probably saving very little

Thanks for the input pigeon. The work deal is simply an additional 10% off the store prices (not outlet) saving £100 on that model. I just felt that with the current promotion they have on the model plus this 10% bringing the total down to £900 felt like good value for money as I couldn't find any other brands with comparable specs in this price bracket. Thoughts?

Worth a punt imo, l have the same model and managed to snag if for 880ish, does the job nicely for a mobile gaming set up.

its a good price tbh especially with a 1060. most you would normally get at that price point is a 1050ti

Cheers the advice both. Have given it a punt. It's replacing both my desktop and laptop setups which are far too old, so fingers crossed will do the job nicely. I know there are flashier laptops out there but I didn't want to splash the extra cash on them,
