Poll: Thoughts on internet piracy?

What is the general consensus on internet piracy these days? With media perhaps becoming easier to access, it means that piracy is less defendable than before?

Does it depend on the media itself? Is a movie alright to pirate but a game not?

Really interested to hear your thoughts.

P.S: Could a kind mod please add a poll with the question, "Internet piracy is okay?", with the responses, "Yes", "No" and "It depends". Thank you.

Are people in favour of a payment to copyright holders like what occurs in some European countries? The fee means that copyright holders are compensated for piracy and so it's not "okay" as such but I guess a blind-eye is turned.

What I don't understand is why the movie industry doesn't do what the music industry is doing. That is allowing all music to be available for a flat fee a month (i.e. Spotify).

I am sure loads of people would pay £10 a month for all the films they wanted.

Steam is pretty expensive though, no?

But I agree, £4.49 for an "HD" film when the Blu-ray is £3 more is ridiculous.
