Thoughts on my £2000(ish) build

Current PC is a 4790k with cobbled together bits added over the years, so thought it was about time for a new build.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £2,209.50 (includes shipping: £15.90)

Firstly, my monitor is an Acer X34p, so 1440p ultrawide. The GPU above is just a place holder, I'll likely be bringing across my current EVGA 1080Ti until pricing and availability sort themselves out, but ideally I want an EVGA/ASUS RTX3080 in there. I might also bring across my current 850W Corsair PSU, so that won't be needed either, along with a WD 4TB HDD. Not interested in RGB, I just want a quiet/efficient/cool (temperature) system. I'm aware the AMD GPU's are inbound, and look to pair well with the 5000 series CPU, but I'm 'stuck' with nVidia due to my G-Sync panel.

So, thoughts? Is there a better way to spend £2000(ish)?

Pcie gen 4 m2 drives are overpriced, unless you need to transfer large files from one fast drive to another.

Take a look at the adata xpg sx8200 pro a 1tb can be had for £110.

Msi x570 tomahawk wifi is the best value board but you could get a b550 if you want to save money .

Do you need those case fans with the warter cooler ?

Not interested in rgb but the 3080 you picked has it , you could get a cheaper 3080 and save £100.

Some of the top air coolers are quiet like the dark rock pro 4 or the noctua nd15 chromax

The gen4 m2 drive is more a 'nice to have', as I have a 500GB Samsung 970 Evo in my current build, so could easily carry that across, and to be honest it's more than fast enough.

I'll take a look at the Tomahawk too. To be honest I'm rather clueless when it comes to motherboards, there seems to be almost too much choice and you get too bogged down in the details.

Case fans. Plan was 3 at the front as intake, AIO top mounted as exhaust, with the last case fan exhausting out the back. For only £13 a piece I figured the more the merrier, happy to be corrected on the best fan configuration though. Current build just has the standard 3 intake, single exhaust, with a Hyper 212 on the CPU.

The GPU in the list, that's just a place holder, Ideally I want the FE, in reality my 1080Ti will probably be in there for another 3-6mths whilst availability sorts itself out.

Depending on how much I wanted to butcher my existing PC and sell the rest for spares I can actually bring across my 1080Ti, 500GB M2 drive, and my 850W PSU, which then brings the above package down to a much more sensible £1050, then I'll actually only have the GPU to buy in the future. Perhaps this isn't a £2000 build after all!
