Hi all.
Iv been wanting to get hold of a 27” ips WQHD g sync screen for awhile now. But at around £600+ Iv been hesitant.
I was looking at the ASU’s PG279Q or QE
But now Acer have the XB273UGS for pre order at £499. It has a 0.5 Ms refresh, ok it is g sync compatible not g sync, but ticks other boxes on paper.
Am I missing something? This looks better on paper bar the true g sync thing.
Any thoughts would u guys have one?
Is this a promo price anyone know?
This looks like a current high hz IPS slayer no?
Cheers all, been awhile

I'd go with Freesync - G-sync compatible as it'll work with AMD and Nvidia cards. G-Sync you have to use Nvidia card I think. Freesync is open source Variable refresh rate (VRR) Freesync 2 isn't open source but has HDR compatibility. G-sync - is more expensive and these days I'm unaware it offers anything over Freesync.

Someone posted a link to this website earlier to help see what's coming up also in 2020 which has made me hesitae as current models should hopefully come down in price.

Thanks for sharing, this looks very good but I am worried about the lack of 1.4 display port on this monitor which will mean a limit of 120 Hz at 10 bit with gsync on.

G-Sync is marketing ploy to get people pay Nvidia to lock ball and chain into their ankles for marriage to Nvidia's higher GPU prices per performance.

Overall one of the best gaming monitors, LG 27GL850 is £470.

That has response times challenging even TNs.
Though contrast is mediocre, so it doesn't work well if you like darker room.

Lenovo Legion Y27Q-20 is another monitor with apparently same panel, but 165Hz.

That PG279Q is four years old panel and QE is its rebranding.

As for new monitors their development is abysmally slow and many panels have been delayed long times.
So wouldn't hold my breath about paper announced monitors.
I mean that Asus ProArt PA32UCX was announced like 4-5 months ago and it's still likely even longer time away.
