Alreet chaps,

After thoughts, looking to replace existing pc wheel with something that will work with more recent games.

I am a casual gamer..may be a couple times a month (away from home during week so weekends usually).

Was looking at the g27, but then is this overkill for casual gamer and something from Thrustmaster may be more reasonable?

I have the cash for G27

Thoughts

Having owned a Logitech MoMo and Logitech G25, I'd never have any other brand of (consumer) wheel/pedals.

The other brands all feel like cheap childs toys in comparison.

If you're just a casual gamer, stay with Logitech but look a little further down their scale. I was pleasantly surprised with how good my Formula Force EX is.

Thrustmaster stuff (from what I've seen) use bungee's for centering force, whereas the logitech's use a motor - this is good because you can sense when the rear end is stepping out as the force gets very light.

Ok cheers Unfortunetly OC only do the g27, so have looked for the Logitech Driving Force GT Steering Wheel , was tempted with the Thrustmaster Ferrari F430 Force Feedback Racing Wheel but based on your posts will look at logitech...

ok ordered the Logitech Driving Force GT Official Race Wheel..now what do i spend the rest of the cash i save not buying the g27 on..

having had the driving force pro which is not that different to the GT and upgraded to g27 its like comparing water and wine.. totally in a different league

ok looks like the hookers and coke may be on hold...I have bought cheaper wheels and after a year...newer games have had issues with them...so what i want is have a wheel that will last as long as possible...appreciate that in IT things change and there are no garentees..otherwise I would be out of a job.. I assume my best bet therefore is the logitech and the GT may be ok, but if i want very good then the g27..I am trying to get the PC splurge done before the wife turns round one day and says we need a nursery!!

I own a G27, Fanatec 911 Turbo S and a Fanatec GT2

The Fanatec GT2 is without a doubt the best wheel out of all of them, so i would suggest getting one of them. If that is too pricey than the G27 is your best bet.
