Ive only ever used MS Office but due to the really high costs I am considering using open office. Personally I think MS Office is excellent. How does Open Office compare?

Well its free for starters. :D

Its like MS Office in many ways, is generally compatible with MS office docs but perhaps not as feature rich, but like I said, its free.

I realy like it,It has a hell of a lot of features, Depends what stuff you do onit?

However I still have MSoffice for application forms and cv's as open office can mess up the formatting slightly when importing .doc

Open Office against something like MS Office is almost the same as comparing MCE2005 against the other multitude of media software out there. 9 times outta 10 the MS is going to win because it just feels that more finished off and that more professional.

Don't get me wrong, if you're broke and need an office suite that you can't go wrong with Open Office, but if you're used to MS Office then I seriously doubt you'll switch, it just doesn't compare.

Pretty impressive considering it's free.

I've been typing up my CV and job letters over the past few days using OpenOffice. I've got to say that it's superb. And free.

I've never really used MS Office to be honest, but OO seemed really user friendly to me. Give it a try and see if it does what you want. Did I mention it was free? ;)
