So I am on my second monitor as first one had a stuck pixel (sent back under DSR) this new one I have no seems to have something stuck behind the screen (not a dead/stuck pixel) as I've looked closely at the screen and all the pixels are white (viewed on Google homepage).

Now my question is, is this something I should just live with or should I send this one back as well as it will probably bug the hell out of me.

It's only really visible on a white background.

Personally I'd have to return it. I freelance in digital art, so I'm looking closely at my monitors and cintiq for extended periods and imperfections that will nag at me have got to go.

Which monitor brand were you going for? I'd recommend Dell for manufacturing quality; got 3 at home, 5 in the office, not a single one of them came with or has ever developed a stuck pixel or had markings on/under the screen. 7 years and still going strong for one of them :)

(I'm guessing you already tried wiping it with a microfibre cloth, just in case it was a bit of residue from manufacturing...)

Yeah, I've given it a rub with a MF cloth and nothing, it's an ASUS VG248Q monitor, I too work at home as a web designer so I too spend time looking closely at the monitor when I am doing visuals, as annoying as it is and it's going to cost me another £20 I think it has to go back as well.

:(

I guess it doesn't count as 'defective' then? :< Surprising, I wouldn't have thought you'd have problems with Asus, usually a very good brand.

Not sure why monitors are held to such loose standards though... ISO class 2 is a particular bugbear, allowing something like 5 stuck pixels per million - so if you have a big 1440p screen, there could be 18! If you get a motherboard with a port that doesn't work, then it's just broken and there's no question about getting an RMA. Double standards are irksome :/

Yeah, I have read great things about them to be fair which is why I chose the monitor. I must just be really unlucky.

I do think I'm being pernickety but I also think it should be perfect.
