Thoughts on SMITE

Hey guys, I've been playing smite for the last couple of days and am LOVING IT. I haven't really played any other MOBA style games so I was wondering what you guys think of the competitors and whether you could give me your views.

Personally don't see the obsession with these games especially LOL. Streamers making hundreds of k a year through it. Most boring games I've tried, tower defense flash based games entertain me more.
 
I started playing it on Friday and am really enjoying it. I played Heroes of Newerth almost exclusively before for a couple of years. I haven't felt the urge to play it since I installed Smite. The conquest concept, 4 skills, levelling and shop are in all the competitors but none have the 3rd person take with skill shot auto attack which is what stands out for me. I have found it easier to get into than other MOBA's but maybe because I've played one for so long it has made the transition smoother. There is a lot less rage and insulting going on from my limited experiences so far.

You'd probably like them more if you were competitive / competent in them.

I came from having a VERY little amount of experience in LoL and I get about a 0.8 kd every game after about 7 fgames. Not too bad if you ask me!
 
No matter how good Smite might be, I won't play it because it's made by Hirez. The moment their next game comes out, all support for Smite will be dropped instantly and the game will die. It happened with Global Agenda, it happened with Tribes Ascend and it will happen with Smite.

Thats my concern too, unfortunately :mad:
