hey guys,

it turns out that i need better cooling to push my FX8320 past 4.6ghz :(

so the h80i has got to be upgraded, so will the h105 be a good step forward? i did look at watercooling my CPU but its too expensive for me and tbh, im scared about leaking etc (cant afford to replace it if it goes wrong)

have i got any other options?
im going to using a corsair 450D soon as well, thanks

Its at 1.38v with a 4.5ghz overclock in syrim it got to 57c

So with a more intense game like coh2 for example, its reaching its max temps

Ok so it does sound like you need more cooling ...

So when you go to the corsair 450D you have a few cooling fan options ....

2 x 140mm in the front as intakes ?

3 x 120mm on the roof as exhaust ( or 2 x 140mm ) pulling air over the RAD ?
1 x 120mm rear exhaust
2 x 120mm as intakes ( in the floor )

and your PSU fan facing down drawing air from outside the case and pushing it out the back ?

PSU fan is facing down,

i currently have 2x SP120 quiet editions (running with the h80i
2x AF120 quiet editions (front intakes)
and a AF140 intaking from the roof to aid the h80i

when i get the 450D this is what i will be running
2x AF140 front intake
2xSP120 quiet edition in push on a h105 in the roof
1x AF120 quiet edition in the rear as exhaust
1x AF120 quiet edition in the floor as intake

so this is what i will be buying
YOUR BASKET

1 x Corsair Hydro H105 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060016-WW ) £89.99
1 x Corsair AF140 Quiet Series Low Noise High Airflow - Single Pack (CO-9050009-WW) £14.99

but with free shipping :) what do you think?

I think you should end up with a much improved airflow and with the larger RAD surface area this should help reduce temperatures but remember not all CPUs are the same so you still might be limited on a stable temp by the CPU but I am sure you will be happy with the new setup.
