Thoughts on the canon eos m

Im looking for a compact camera and this stands out for build quality, I know it had a problem with af but has now been fixed with firmware.

I can get it for £345 and £50 cash back so £295

Is there anything else worth looking at around this price?

Oh and already have a d90 so not looking for dslr

EOS M was a failure. I'd save a bit and get a RX100 or are you wanting interchangeable lenses.

Not got to be interchangeable but prefer a manual zoom lens

I forget where I read it but apparently the AF on the M is awful. I see the RX100 recommended so much though. I'm guessing this is a smaller camera for when you don't want to cart the DSLR.

Yes pretty much the d90 is too big sometimes so doesnt get the use it deserves, most of the time I just use my s4, I have a panasonic fz38 too but that dont get used either as I find it too light, so looking for something compact metal bodied with a manual lens
