Just wondering if i could have peoples thoughts on the EVGA P55 F.T.W motherboard for the LGA1156 socket? (£149.99)

I'll be looking to overclock it to ~3,8 for gaming and amateur video editing.

How does it compare to other 1156 boards and how easy it is to overclock??

thanks in advance.

It will depend on whether it has a foxconn socket or not. If it has the foxconn connector it will not be a great overclocker due to the poor CPU socket connectivity.

If you find yourself shopping for an EVGA P55 F.T.W, model E657, you've got a 50/50 chance of buying one with a Tyco AMP socket design (using a LOTES backplate), as opposed to one made solely with Foxconn's, the same goes for MSI and DFI who have batches of boards in the retail channel using LOTES sockets

Note I had to edit the anandtech quote as F.T.W without the .s is censored (***)
