Thoughts on the WiiU?

I bought one for the Nintendo exclusives, have played the hell out of Zela WW, Mario 3DW and Donkey Kong.

I doubt I will ever buy a multi platform game for it over the PS4 unless it makes some sort of amazing, game changing use of the gamepad, but that's okay because over its lifetime the Nintendo games will give me and the other half more than enough fun to have made it a worth while purchase.

In other words, if you have some spare cash, go for it.

Go for it mate. I mainly game on my PC but when I got my Wii U I was hooked on Mario 3D World for at least a week and did not touch the PC. It really does complement the PC.

The best is yet to come in the form of Mario Kart 8 next month :D

Wii U has got so cheap now, (says he annoyingly paying full release price). The games coming in the future are promising and what is currently on there is pleasing. Also you can play nearly any of the games on the game pad alone...I'll leave you to decide which room you choose :P, go for it!

I have a Wii U and Xbox one, I mainly use the Wii U for games and the Xbox One for my media and internet browsing needs in the living room, love the voice control for things like Netflix and Snap, so glad I took back my PS4 because it doesn't have either what they both have currently TBH.

I bought a Wii U for my daughters to play on. Within about 10 minutes of firing it up it became mine and my daughters now have to ask permission to use it.

Truly awesome console - it's got something for everyone and that Nintendo magic is as strong as ever. The titles don't come thick and fast but what does come is sooooooo damn good.

I've actually got a backlog presently - still finishing off Zelda Wind Waker whilst getting stuck into Donkey Kong and 3D World. I want to pick up Deus Ex soon too - the Wii U version is THE version - I don't want to miss out on it.

So excited for MarioKart and Super Smash Bros but most of all for E3 this year when we should get a look at Zelda U.

I think the question is how much do you care about Nintendo's first party games? Apart from Bayonetta 2 and the successor to Xenoblade coming out later this year, third party support is really weak. If you have a decent PC, all multiplatform games are best on PC, except for maybe Rayman Legends which I think makes really good use of the touch controls. If you feel like you don't have much time to play games these days and can only play a few of the best ones, Wii U is fine console. If you are really fussy or feel like you get bored waiting for games to come out then Wii U will probably not satisfy.

Personally I'll be getting a Wii U. I have PC and PS3 so am only getting it for the exclusives. I also never had a Wii so look forward to that back catalogue.

Value for money I would say its better than the xbox one and pS4 I think it lacks online multiplayer even coop online which is disappointing but fields some amazing games mario 3d is a great game decent as a browsing tablet as well by using the pad. I would recommend the console so go and buy one

Its a great console if you like Nintendo games, but even then its not amazing, as games are taking ages to release!

Its a fantastic console, great graphics, nice gameplay, and i really enjoy the touchscreen control pad.

I sold mine ages ago, no point having a great console without a good selection (more than rehashed classics) of games.

Worst console I have ever owned, I can't think of one good thing to say about it other than Bayonetta 2 may eventually come out for it..

Do you like Nintendo games? Rookie mistake if you don't :D

Yeah I like Nintendo games but nothing so far on the Wii U has held my attention. I reckon since getting it on release it's had less than 24 hrs use :(

When I bought the Wii U on release I did so expecting Bayonetta to be released a couple of months later and Rayman.. Bayonetta still isn't out and of course Rayman was delayed and came out on everything else.. Wonderful 101 looked so good until I actually played it and hated the controls. New Super Mario was a tired platformer and I felt the same with Donkey Kong. Super Mario World was great right up to the point it may me swap controllers just to blow into it and raise a platform. I find the Wii U controller very uncomfortable and a complete waste of time. The UI is slow (although it has got a tiny bit better), it has next to no 3rd party support.. ohh the list could go on, but as I said there is nothing I like about it or that I could recommend..

I really hope Mario Kart is good though and fingers x'd that Bayonetta will come out sooner rather than later.
