Hey everyone, first post here.

After a PC and was wondering if this build sounds good to everyone who actually knows about this sort of stuff. I have a bit of a budget, around the £800/£900 mark, but willing to spend more on what will benefit me more.

It will be mainly used for gaming.

CPU

E6600 2.40 GHz £177.99

CPU COOLERS

Zalman CNPS9500-AT Aero Flower (socket 775) £29.99

MOBO
Gigabyte GA 965p DS4 (socket 775) pci express £99.99

MEMORY
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit £144.99

G-CARDS
*Left blank to see what new stuff comes out soon*

PSU
Enermax Liberty 620w ELT620AWT ATX22 Sli £89.99

HD
Western Digital Raptor 150GB 10,000 rpm SATA £125.99

I've been reccomended to wait a little to set my heart on a particular g-card because of dx10? Is this the right way to go?

Thought/reccomendations please. Cheers.

Added a dvd writer in there as you didnt have one. And didnt add a case. Took out the raptor as you have a 900 pound budget and the barracudas are very fast anyway! :D

Thanks for the swift reply.

Yea I will be needing a case, monitor and a keyboard with this (sorry I forgot to mention that in the first post) Already got a mouse sorted.

Also I've been told that the WD raptors are the way forwards but if there isn't any real difference in barracuda/raptor then I don't see why I'd pay more for the raptor.

Raptors are indeed faster but not by as much as they used to be. If I were you I'd get a 320 GiB Barracuda 7200.10. It's the sweet spot of size and performance. :)
