A few questions -

Will this be good to throw games like crysis 2, COD, battlefield 3, bad company 2 etc at it on full settings and it look smooth? I have a 1080p display.

Any disadvantage over getting this motherboard as opposed to it's deluxe edition?

Would you swap any components for cheaper alternatives? Are the components I have chosen reliable?

Thanks,
Mike

1) Yes, it should be more than capable.

2) The main difference is that the non Deluxe version doesn't have SLI support. So if you were looking to add a second 480 at a later date you couldn't with this motherboard, however if you were looking to add a second 480 you'd also need a more powerful PSU. Other differences are minimal, however if I were to upgrade MoBo to SLI compatible I'd probably just get the PRO version rather than the Deluxe.

As for swapping out components:

GPU is fine

CPU and Mobo are fine, however if you're going to choose those 2 then get this:http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-014-OP&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=1858 as it's exactly the same apart from with some off :)

SSD: I'd probably wait (in fact I am) until the c400 comes out in a few weeks (can't remember the release date) but it will be faster and probably cheaper.

PSU: This: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-002-XF&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=1497 - On pre-order I know, but pretty much exactly the same.

Case/CPU Cooler - Fine

RAM: Not sure if you need 8GB, if you have a good reason for getting it then yes, if you just threw it in there because you thought it was a good idea, then 4GB is fine for gaming.

HDD: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-067-HI&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=1279 Minimal difference, this one's on offer atm (one of the three 1TB drives out of the Samsung F3 the Hitachi I've put up and the one you have tend to be on offer each week, depending when you order, there's basically no difference between them!)

Optical Drive: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CD-099-SA&groupid=701&catid=10&subcat=951
No real difference between the two, saves you some money :)

Brilliant. I'll probably be buying this around the 14th-16th March, so some of the special offers won't be around then, although some more porducts may have reduced in price to cater for that! :)

Also hopefully the c400 is released by then too!

I'm a web developer and university student. Run many apps at once like dreamweaver, photoshop, FTP programs, many firefox tabs and other browsers so thought 8GB RAM would be good to have.
