Hi, Looking at a new system for gaming.

case NZXT H7 Flow
mobo ASUS ROG STRIX B760-F
cpu i7 13700F
gfx 4070
cooler H100i ELITE
32gb DDR5 5600
2x 1tb Samsung 980

For all sorts of games, ideally 1440p

I was going to use the i5 13400 but a friend suggested i went with the i7

Any thoughts / suggestions?

It's fine, but the 13700F would be fine with a decent air cooler for games, like the peerless assassin.

2x1TB seems a waste of M.2 slots too, unless you already own them.

If I was buying it? No, I'd just get the peerless assassin and power limit the CPU if necessary for non-gaming stuff.

The 13600K is also a 'proper' 13th gen CPU, FYI. The 13400, 13500 and 13600 non-K are not.

Have zero issues playing anything at native 1440p maxed, anything not the best optimised i.e. Starfield, I use DLSS/Frame Generation/Reflex (Super Low Latency Mode) and can smash above 60fps easily in the most demanding games like Alan Wake 2

They also undervolt like monsters, and run silent

I also run a PA120SE cooler like Tetras mentioned, awesome, silent, efficient, and cheap as! Cannot go wrong!
