Thoughts on upgrading from a nvidia GTX 660.

I would probably wait until the new AMD cards drop and the GTX980TI,as it should help drive prices down a bit. I am on a GTX660 too and want to get a newer card,but I feel we need better options at around £150 to £200 currently.
 
I've just recently upgraded from a 660Ti to a MSi 970 and the difference is really smooth graphics output.

I'm currently playing GTAV at more or less full settings and Project Cars at more or less full settings. Both are really good and very playable on the 970.

I've not noticed the memory issue at all but having said that in all fairness I am gaming at 1680 X 1050 and I do have a i7 4790k at 4ghz and 16 gig of ram.

IMHO I would recommend the 970.
 
I'd go for the 970 with that budget, the AMD alternative is slightly less performance and draws a hell of a lot more power.
