Hi guys,

I have 32g Nexus 5 which I purchased at release. There is nothing wrong with it at all, not even the smallest of physical damage. But, I'm wanting something else. Problem is I don't know what.

I've played with a Nexus 6 and thought it was too big, although I'm sure I get used to the size.

I've played with the iPhone 6, both sizes, and I don't fancy going back to being an iPhone dude just yet.

I don't like Samsung handset as they feel cheap and nasty, used to have a S3.

So, any phones that you guys could suggest out there at the mo?

Thanks Guys.

Wait for a few months, Galaxy S6 (which apparently will go all metal + glass), Xperia Z4 and HTC "Hima" is due soon.

Not a popular opinion I know, and I know you really want a change, but honestly why bother? You have a great phone and the fact that you're asking means you haven't seen anything with any particular features you want/need.

I'd just wait until something appears that you really want.

A lot of people seem to recommend the LG G3. It won Phone of the Year award 2014, I believe.

The Mrs has just picked a G3 up on a good deal. I've had a play and it's a real nice phone.

Not at all, it's the whole point of the thread and your input is valued. You, also, happen to be correct. Nothing has sung out at me when I've looked around...

Does anyone know when the Spanish Phone Convention is...Soonish? I guess all the main players will be releasing something new then?

give it another year for something real special to come up tbh. I think there's going to be a lot of changes in the next 12-24 months.

It's just a phase, I used to go through them every month getting new phones.

I then stuck to my note 3

Stick with the nexus and wait till something special comes along, the n5 is a great phone, maybe try a custom rom if you want a change.

i know folk are talking about the M9 being "announced" at MWC. But didn't they do a separate event for the M8 last year(?), I'd half expect them to do the same again this year tbh.

I would wait personally as you say nothing wrong with current handset. And there are going to be some big releases this year. Especially GS6.

If you must switch now maybe HTC M8?

I would wait for the next bunch of flagships, but I'm slightly worried about the S810 and its issue with heat etc etc so I will wait too see how that plays out.

I had a Nexus 5 which broke so had to send off for warranty repair.

Bought a HTC One M8 to replace it, noticeably bigger and didn't like the size. Also like a bar of soap so needed a case, further increasing the size difference (had no case on the Nexus, loved the soft touch rubber back). Sent it back!

Then moved onto a Z3 Compact, this is very nice and my current phone. But, web pages can cause a bit more eye strain and since my N5 has come back for warranty repair I've been tempted to go back to it.

What both of these phones do a LOT better than the N5 is actually have a battery that lasts all day without needing a top up in the afternoon - this is the main reason I'm not going back to it.

Wait for 810 / next die shrink based handsets, nothing will overly offer much on a N5 right now aside from the Application Layer.

Still using a Nexus 4 here! I was set on a Z3c but don't see the point when my Nexus still has a day of battery and does everything I want it to. Just going to go SIM only until something special comes out or (more likely) it dies.

You either don't use your n4 or you have a special one. If I use it and I do use it a lot I am lucky if I can eek out a morning. Love the phone hate the battery and camera. Z3 tempts but +£400 for a phone seems a lot of money (I have one of the three all in contracts so don't want to lose that).

My own view is probably the Z3 or Z4 - maybe if LG produce the next version. I heard the LG 3 could be a bit laggy on the screen scroll which I wouldn't like

I've had it for almost 2 years exactly. I work from home so don't use mobile internet or the phone itself much during the day apart from recording voice. It gets hammered in the evening though as there's never anything on telly :p
