I've just noticed a thread from yesterday has been deleted which the user had some dangerously fitted water blocks allegedly done by OCUK on as many as 6 cards. Went to check this morning if there was any update or response from OCUK and its gone. If OCUK are trying to cover that up, it's absolutely shocking as the blocks were downright dangerous.

Yeh, I had that open last night on my tablet, went to refresh it this morning, and BOOM!

Thread nuked.

Yeah that's how I noticed it Kelt.

Maybe so VH, still would have liked to have seen some kind of response from overclockers about the issue. Maybe the OP will make another thread about a response from overclockers.

yep posted in it yeaterday and checked today to see if there was any update and couldnt find the thread. Would be interested to know the response tbh

Thermal pads had been fitted sloppily and weren't covering the VRM fully. Caused the VRM to burn and catch fire. The OP was getting ribbed a bit for not fitting the block correctly to which he came back and said they were pre fitted by OCUK. Next thing the thread got deleted :D

I saw that too - it seems as thought they hadn't been fitted (by whomever was doing the fitting) properly as they needed to be in a T-shape formation, but only the long edge of the T had been covered with lots of overlap, despite the fact that the linked instructions indicated the pad needed to be cut before applying.

I was keen to see the outcome too, but its gone - mystery.

The thread hasn't been deleted, it was moved into the CS forum to be investigated and more importantly, resolved.

Okay. Would it maybe not have been a good idea to leave the thread up so others who have pre fitted water blocks could check them before their house burns down?

Hey guys,

Yeah the thread was moved to the tech help section here and OCUK are sorting out the issue for me as I knew they would. Despite such an issue I'll still remain a loyal customer because of the way they deal with these issues. There's never any 'pass the blame' from them and always a willingness to get things sorted out in a way that suits the customer.

Yeah they are brilliant at sorting issues out compared to other retailers. Hopefully your thread makes them do something about the guys fitting the blocks.

This is something that I have addressed with out technical team today.

The Tech Labs products are supposed to represent a high level of professional workmanship and offer customers a hassle free approach. On this occasion there has been a bit of a screw up.

The benefit is that unlike dealing with a board partner who is likely to point the finger of blame at a customer, we as a retailer offer our own warranty on these products and at times like this can hold our hands up and say that we screwed up.

I'm glad to see Hammerark has been dealt with quickly and is clearly being more than reasonable about the situation.

This is a QC issue that has now been raised and added to our already extensive checklists.

if nothing else happens, this sort of stuff helps us improve our service.

Apologies to Hammerark, we will do what we can to sort this as quickly as possible for you.
