About to pull the trigger on a Threadripper build but can't find any water blocks for TR4 - any news?
Out of interest, how long was it between AM4 release and EK blocks?
Most just needed a different back plate.
Shame the gigabyte ek mono won't fit their x399, I quite fancy a 16 core![]()
AFAIK you don't need a backplate with TR4 because it has screw in coolers like LGA2011, you just need a new bracket and any EK block from the past decade should work. Most just needed a different back plate.
They might introduce a bigger block... and any EK block from the past decade should work.
They might because bigger block = bigger price = bigger profit. However any one they have made in the last decade is large enough for a Threadripper chip (the heat spreader is bigger than the actual CPU area, it's there to stop it being crushed by retards during cooler installation). They might introduce a bigger block

@ocuk - any idea when your stock of EK threadripper water blocks will be coming in?
XSPC has 1 aswell
