I need more cores :-)

I'm seriously thinking about moving to the dark side, having been an Intel user for many years, the 1950X seems like much better value for money that the 7960X.

I'm looking for more cores as I do quite a bit of video & photo work.

So a couple of questions if I may as it's been a couple of years since I got my current rig.

I'm planning on reusing as much of my kit as I can to keep costs sensible.

I'll need Mobo, CPU, cooler(water, i've got a good custom loop) and possibly RAM.

1st Question, is there a refresh round the corner, a TR2 or the likes that I would be better off waiting for.

2nd Question I've got 64GB of Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400 RAM. Can I use this in a TR setup as RAM prices are crazy just now.

Have I missed anything ?

Can someone recommend a decent MoBo and waterblock for a TR. I do want to try and overclock it a bit.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback.

I'll definitely wait until TR2 comes out although the rumours are a bit confusing as to what the upgrades might be....

The reason I need cores is that I'm regularly maxing out my 5960 within Adobe Premier when editing 4K video. Just finished a small 15 minute project with a lot of video stabilisation and the cpu was maxed out as was the 64GB of RAM. Also feeling the pain when I'm transcoding videos to get them all in the same format for editing. If only the 7960 was not silly money...
