Threadripper x1900 vs i7 7820x

Considering Humbug doesn't own a Ryzen CPU, he doesn't half spend some time trying to sell them. Almost makes me want to sell my own 1700.
If core counts are matching, I'd take a CPU with faster overall core for core performance, unless the price difference matters that much to you.
But frankly I'd just get an R7 1700 for yourself. They've been as low as 270 pound.

yes but not showing the real scenario.yet again at your own benchmarks...

ryzen is slower than x99 platform. nevermind x299.if you have a ryzen enjoy it.if you enjoy trolling whatever.the simple fact is and fact is a very argumentitive thing to say but its true intel is the best at gaming.amd is great at value.the real funny thing is the ryzen is clocked to the max you will get them to.the intel chips arent.so the gaps even bigger once overclocked to the max.

so all the main games people actually play like bf1 in mp , pubg with 8 million players in mp on pc witcher leader of its genre is all better performance on intel.that doesnt mean you cant get good performance on amd no.you get decent performance for value just not the best performance.

before others jump in show mp benchmarks.not single player.

Why is the image so small?

Those appear as DigitalFoundry Graphics on the right but the video does not appear to be on their channel, can you post a link to it please (just as i do) i want to see the whole thing, not just one of your apparent screen grabs.

PS: here is a wider selection of games with X99...

720p yep just what we would be playing at with those set ups.you win ryzen is obviously faster.

Not to discount your point, but if you are trying to show a CPU throttling, isn't it best to rule out the graphics card bottlenecks, so running a low resolution?

i get why but come on.if the benchmarks arent what you use your pc at and the other product is slower at the resolutions we all use them for.then its a useless benchmark.

Yes, but once you start going to actual resolutions people use with high end parts like the 6900K/7900K at £1000, then you are playing at 1440P/4K which then shows the both of them being even for the most part, due to the graphics card becoming the bottle neck. There is the exception where some nut jobs buy this kit and play at 1080p, but try and justify it 'cause they play one game at 300fps on a 244Hz monitor "cause I is a twitch gamer init"

I am a pro cyber athlete :D

I need at least 700fps and 15,000 calories a day to maintain my fighting physique

Until there are single GPU solutions that can do 1440p at 144fps in the majority of titles then this will continue to be the case.
Give me 144hz over 4k 60 anyday.

but thats where you are wrong.i know many people who play at 1080 and 144hz.want high fps constant.for games like pubg.which is 8 million players strong.the thing is in that game even a 1080ti and top end cpu doesnt get constant 100 fps at 1080.so no its not a waste.for eg on my teamspeak right now . all are on 1080 144hz.i9 7900x 1080ti,2 x99 rigs and 1080s one has 6700k at 4.8 and 2 1080s in sli.to some thats overkill for 1080 but it isnt for many.

so these new powerful cpus matter ! especially when its for the hottest game on pc since ...forever. what was the last game on pc that got 8 million players on soley pc in a few months.probably going to end up 15-20million.so yes its very important and not a waste.

So an Alpha release game, now counts as out ranking every other game that is played? It's funny because by the time it reaches release status it will have already burned out it's player base, and no one will care.

what ? do you not see how important it is ?

its only just launched and more content to come and many people are building pcs just to play it.so im showing there is a point in using these very highend cpus for gaming.while you may not agree many do and are building rigs.pubg is one of the main reasons at the moment.

you could show every reason on this forum and still people would argue debate it lol.

when has a game on pc shifted 8 million copies in such a short time which needs such a decent pc to play it properly.obviously for people like ocuk its a big deal because people need mainly enthusiast parts to play it.
