I'm lookin at upgrading my current setup:-
i7 5930k, msi sli+ and 16Gb 2666 Mem

I'm looking at an AMD 1950x but which mobo should I go for (I like MSI) and which RAM?

Have a read of the Threadripper thread and owner's thread in the CPU section mate. That should answer all your questions. There's a Threadripper thread in the Motherboards section too iirc. Just to be clear, I'm not being rude - this isn't a RTFM post. I can't properly answer your question, I just know where you can find the answers.
