Adolescence team to remake Threads nuclear attack epic

Sheffield-based Warp Films firm plans to turn the 1984 movie Threads into a TV series, it says.

Warp Films is producing a remake of Threads.

They have previously produced films such as Dead Mans Shoes, This is England, Four Lions and most recently the tv show Adolescence.

Thoughts ? Id usually be skeptical but Warp Films track record is exceptionally good.

I only saw 1984's Threads for the first time 4 years ago as a 40-something adult, and even then it gave me nightmares. Biden was president and Russia wasn't at war back then, so it will be more topical now.

Should be more horrific this time around we have decommissioned so much of our civil contingencies and national resilience infrastructure since the cold war.

I watched it about 6 months ago. BBC had a small season of stuff from around then available.

The original was pretty horrific, was set 'upt north so everyone spoke funny.
Certainly gave me nightmares those accents

Watched Threads as a kid, absolute nightmare fuel. I suspect these guys will make it even worse in a good way.
