Three DVI monitors, single graphics card

Hi

What graphics card would allow me to run three DVI monitors? All three will have to run from a single card because my motherboard has just one PCI-E slot.

This is for work primarily, so I won't be gaming or doing any rendering etc, but I will need each monitor to act independantly, i.e. run a different program on each monitor.

Your help and suggestions are appreciated.

Phil

The 5850 has more than enough power. Usually has 2xDVI (or 1xdvi and 1xhdmi - use an adapter) and you would need an eyefinity adapter to power a third.

Do you have all 3 monitors?

You can get low end 5000 series cards that all suppot 3 way eyefinity but you will need a DVI to HDMI adaptor for one screen and a Frankenstein connection of DVI to VGA to display port (I'm not sure that last one will work).

If you want to be sure the latest 6850's does support passive mini display port to DVI connections but they cost about £150/£160 each.

Are you sure the 5850 can provide enough bandwidth to supply all three monitors and you only need the powered/active display port adaptors if you want to run all 3 in eyefinity?
