Three Home Signal - how do I get one?

quick update here. It should be arriving today.

However, interesting one.

When I called up, they offered me 3 options

1 - Change to a lower tariff as I 'Can't make full use of what I've paid for'
2 - Have a reduction in my monthly bill (I'm on the One Plan with a iPhone 4S, worked out about £5 per month
3 - Get the Home Signal.

I asked for the Home signal as I'd just like to get a signal in the house, but said if this doesn't work can I get the line rental reduction... She claimed it was a one time offer, but I'll see what happens....

They are a sound investment for long term use, I've tested a few variations on these and have always enjoyed using them. Simple, effective, just how tech should be. Operators love them too as more people call you = more termination charges which is why they subsidise them.

are these worth it ?

If you want to be more connected and you currently have questionable signal - sure. If you have no home phone then they are a great fit. If you have enough signal to make reliable calls (2 bar) and use wifi all the time when at home - probably not.

Cost is network dependant, from free to £50 typically.

The vodafone equivalent is simple to use although when you first plug it in it can take a few hours to connect; when I come home from uni I plug it in before I go to bed and wake up with full 3g.

I'm on a sim only £10 a month job with them, but have been for a good while now 2 year +. I could do with a signal boost at home, do you reckon I would be eligible?

After reading this been on the phone to three ,now waiting for a call back in the next two hours ,as signal in house is nothing to one bar outside is ok though so will see what they say .

How did it go?my 3 signal drops to emergency calls only.

I just called tech support, explained all around my house I have a great signal apart from inside.

Got a call back 2 days later from the tech support people who confirmed a long term poor signal issue in my area, and they offered me the options above.

Nearly a week on, I don't know how I coped without it. No pressing resend on texts in the kitchen for 5 minutes !!!

Well they agreed about my signal but wanted me to pay 50 pounds which I wasn't willing to do ,said I didn't meet the required criteria to get one for free, in the end settled for 5.50 a month off for the rest of the contract which is next march ..
