Hi guys

do any of you use this thing? im keen on getting one for my van. as i work away a lot it would be useful to connect my iphone and laptop to a constant wifi connection

just after any user thoughts on it really

It'll be as good as the coverage in whichever area you are in, 3 mobile BB works off hspa now so if you are close to a mast then speeds should be good. I get around 4 mb down 1 mb where I am, pings are generally below 100ms so online gaming possible.

really i never thought i would hear that online gaming was possible with one! i always thought 3G was better than the HSPA shows what i know

so defo worth it then, when im about and about so much?

I bought a unlocked e1750 from the bay with a couple of three data sims, works out at 3GB for £8.75 that lasts for 90 days. I then bought a Edimax 3G router, which runs on 12v, and use that in the car/minibus/anywhere.

i never knew OcUK did them

when they are unlocked can you add any data sim? is that the idea? i have a o2 dongle and a three one. my iphone is on o2 but the signal where i am a lot of the time isnt great. but on three its a lot better.

does it work off a normal data sim?

i dont have the option on my iphone unless i pay o2s tethering charge. plus three's network seems a more wide spread 3g coverage

Ah right I didn't no you couldn't do that on the iPhone with out paying o2. Yea 3 are pretty good with it as I'm on their network and do the hotspot with my phone and don't really have problems

I am defo considering moving back to three! Now my iPad and Internet dongle are three I might as well move to them and use my phone as a hotspot for the rest!!

3's 3g coverage is much better than other networks. I live way out in the sticks and have a very strong 3g/hspa signal from my 3 dongle. I also have a mobile phone contract with 02 (iphone) and although the phone signal is strong the 3g signal is non-existent. will probably ditch 02 at the end of current mobile phone contract and move over to 3.
