Hey all,

I'm currently with GiffGaff, but after being told it could take months before they have the nano sims in for the new iPhone, I've pretty much decided I'm off to another network...

I'm looking at the £12.50 sim only 200 deal with Three mobile - All looks pretty good...

How is there mobile internet coverage? I was with O2 for years before moving to GiffGaff a few months ago (Who are also share O2's network) - How do they compare?

Thanks,

Marky

Obviously it depends exactly where you are and there are coverage maps to help, but it's been rock-solid for me.

I'm a big fan of Three's mobile data. Came from Voda not long ago and in every way Three knocks them into a cocked hat. Coverage and speed is vastly better in the same locations since I moved. With unlimited data I get with the Three plan and generally fast 3G speeds most everywhere I go they way I use my phone has completely changed.

All in all, I'm very glad I made the move to Three just because of how good the data connection and speeds have been.

YMMV, of course...

Round my area it's great. Be warned though, they do not have their own 2g services to fall back to. You either have mobile internet, or you don't.

They have an agreement with Orange so that if you run out of 3g you can back down to 2g on Orange for texts and calls only.

Im in the same boat as you Marky. I have ordered a Three sim to try as I have been told the frequency and channel three use is bad for building penetration and their webpage says poor indoor signal where I live.

Dont forgot to get some nice quidco, and also why not just get a sim and try it out, I have heard people complain about Three at their home but it has been amazing for me, generally sitting at 8-12mb.

It's better than Vodafone. And +1 for Quidco, when I signed up I got £155!

...and also won a 3DTV (but that was Samsung's doing) :D

Very happy with three here in rural Devon, get around 5mb. Been stuck on 0.5mb landline for over 10yrs and it's just painful, the cities just get faster and faster whereas here in the sticks we are left behind, so mobile internet is very useful. Will be very happy when 4G is released as the speed and coverage should be even better (eventually).

Slightly off topic.

My contract is up and I think I'm going to go to three. A couple of questions.

1. What is their roaming like abroad? With them being limited to 3g does this cause problems?

2. For now I plan to get the Ultimate Internet SIM 600 1 month until I decide weather I want to get a phone on contract or just upgrade to the one plan. Now if I get the ultimate plan through quidco then decide to upgrade will I be able to get the second quidco discount? Its quite a substantial discount so I may hold off if it's not possible.

That's great then. Orange have a rubbish coverage in my street, and so do three (my current contract).

I think im better for O2 and Voda. Which is where I'll be going for network coverage where i live.

Agreed.

I live in London with Vodfone on my iPhone and Three on my iPad. I get five bars of 3G coverage in most places with both except mobile internet crawls on the Vodafone connection and always flies on Three.
