Three Monitors? (on AGP)

I'm about to invest in a new monitor, I'm looking at either

Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Midnight Grey (MO-011-DE)

or

Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Midnight Grey (MO-009-DE)

I currently have two Hyundai Image Quest Q17s. I used to have them running dual monitor, but my 9800XT went all plonkers so I got 9550 (256 mb), but i've never been able to get the dual monitors working, I think it's a windows issue.

Anyways, assuming I get that working, to run the Dell above (either one) can I just stick in

HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon 9250SE 128MB DDR TV-Out/DVI (PCI) - Retail (R9250-PTDW128-64bit) (GX-013-HT)

and hey presto? :D I'll want to run the two Q17s at their native 1280x1024 and the Dell at its native res. I don't really have time for gaming any more, but if I can get my 9800 up again I might (think it needs a new heatsink).

Thanks!

Chris

You can do it, I've achieved 3 screens spread between AGP and PCI, but on nVidia it is easier. I'd recommend getting Ultramon - especially if you're on ATi - it'll ease the process and manage the screens effectively.

Thanks for the reply, I will probably go ahead and order next week :D I already have ultra mon, it's an excellent app!

Will these cards be able to handle all the new fancy stuff with Vista (assuming the 9800XT) ?

Cheers!

If by fancy Vista stuff you mean the Aero toolbar, I think probably yes. If you mean DirectX 10, then no.

Yep, Aero is what I meant...jeez I sound like such a n00b...I've been out of this game for a while.

I hope to buy a new rig soon, just waiting to see if my accountant will approve a new rig that I build as "repairs" since I am buying individual parts and thus making it 100% tax deductable, otherwise it's only 40% tax deductable

Thanks for help guys!
