whats with the Vapor-X 2gb being less expensive and has faster clocks and more processing cores than the Toxic 2gb which is £19 more?

wow overly expensive for measly overclocks  sapphire must not want to sell any...
I agree they seem too expensive but you really think they are measly overclocks?
Very tempted on the 5850 Vapor-X 1024 as I want silence but fast frames on a 24inch panel but this week special £299 for 5870 looks good too.

But look at the specs, same pixel pipes as a 5870, fatser clock speeds than a 5870 and an extra 1GB DDR5, this doesn't look in any shape like a 5850, more like a oc'd 5870

That's more than likely because the specs of the 5870 have been used instead of the 5850. ;)

Definately no longer worth the extra cost, thought the pixel pipes was a typo but was still vaguely hoping the clock speeds were correct.

the only reason to get one of these over a 5870 is because of the extra memory. to get a 5870 with 2gb memory would be about £100 more.

that price range just doesn't make sence to me, why would anyone buy the 1024mb one when for an extra 20-40bucks you can get twice that amount.

Plus some people will pay the premium for the looks.

Wonder how well the blue accent shows up with some case lighting etc

Nothing here to make me remotely regret getting a ref design back in the day.

Cooling solutions are overkill for a card that makes very little noise and runs cool to start with.

Maybe worth it if you plan to overclock the snot out of it.

Definately not so good now the specs have been set right . Just as well I didn't click the buy button. Was sooo close
