The sad part of me wants to play Elite again :D
Really enjoyed playing with the original on my BeeB!!

This time I want to big out. I am planning on getting 3 screens that will show more of the action.

I plan to have them in a slight curve.

So I need;
3 screens [upto 24" I think] - do these have to be special screens?
some sort of 3 screen bracket that will allow the curve - ideas?

A gfx card the cheaper the better - suggestions please

Anything else for the display?

Thanks

Its 3 x Dell 2007FWP on a triple monitor stand (sold by a competitor so I cant link it here)

The screens don't have to be special, but you probably want three the same size and resolution otherwise it gets a bit odd.

The stand I have allows for the side monitor to be curved in and its a manual adjustment. I really like it, but it did cost just under £70

As for the GFX card. I did have a Radeon 5870, but it was no where near powerful enough to run Elite on high detail at that resolution (5040x1050) so I upgraded to a R9 290 which is great for it.

The only other thing is that I had to buy a Display port -> DVI adaptor. The cards generally have 2xDVI output and a display port. As the monitors I have are DVI and VGA only you need to convert the DP to DVI for it to work. There are some cheap adapters out there, but you want an active, not passive one. The one I'm using is 'Sapphire 44000-02-40R Active Display Port DVI Cable '

I have three screens and they are also in a slight curve but I don't have a bracket. I just adjusted them and measured until the two sides were identically aligned, same angle etc. Didn't take long to get them perfect but then again I do have OCD lol

For the screens themselves, get same size, same resolution, preferably same brand as
1: it looks nicer
2: it will be easier to play triple screen games

Aside from that, maybe consider the bevel size so there isn't as much gap, bear in mind a bevel may seem small but multiple that x2 as the screens will be side by side.

For the gfx card, whats your budget?

The Iiyama one you linked is gorgeous, always wanted a triple monitor setup, but got a 29 inch LG ultrawide instead... Decisions Decisions, anyone wanna swap? ;)

Hi,
I currently have a 28" monitor, why would I want a 29" instead of 3 24" monitors?
The 34" is way out of budget! :D

i found 16.9 screens a bit too narrow and think 16.10 would be better, for a budget triple screen setup how about 3 22" 1680x1050, should be able to pick up secondhand and the lower res would be much more managable
