Threshold 2

Has anyone else had the bug since Threshold 2, where the Start menu and jump lists stop functioning after a period of time? The bug was introduced in Threshold 2 but is present in all releases since. I can replicate it at home on two different installs and at work on another install yet I have not found anything online about it? It's easy to resolve, just log off and on or reboot but it is quite annoying!
