Throttling still an issue on the Dell XPS 15 5xxx series?

Thinking of upgrading my aging Studio 1555, so I've been browsing the Dell outlet as my first port of call (because I'm tight).

Historically, with the L521x series, Dells used to have real issues with throttling when under gaming loads - is this still a consideration, or are the latest series actually able to run full tilt without overheating?

I really don't subscribe to the mindset of buying hardware and then not being able to run it at its max, in my book that's poor design unless it's clearly advertised, so it's not a route I want to go down.

Cheers.

Do not touch an L521X

Not only do they overheat, the wifi doesn't work.

I got a refund on mine (via Dell) due to the thermal problems.

Look at the P35k / P34g / P25W
