I've been having a problem on my computer where thumbnail images on a page will not load completely until a few minutes later or just won;t load altogether. This is driving me nuts as it also affects Google image search.
At first I thought it was my Internet connection but later found it was the browser as they loaded fine when I closed my usual browser (Opera) and tested in IE6. I then thought it was Opera but found that it happened in Firefox and sometimes IE also.
I believe it may be a caching problem but it somehow affects all the browsers on my system. Bizarrely, if I have Opera open and the problem occurs I find it will also affect IE at the same time. I then close Opera and once it has finished emptying its cache thumbnails will then work again in IE.
Opera and Firefox seem to have the same problem with some sites that I frequent just not loading any thumbnails altogether every time I visit them whereas IE is more intermittent.
I've cleared the cache in all browsers and even manually deleted files from the folders they store cached data but to no avail. I'm starting to think it's an issue with the OS which is WinXP.
