is there any add on that allows the email accounts for thunderbird to be sorted in folders, and then if possible be all shown in one list (rather then seperate for each account) and if you reply it replies from the address the email was sent to?

i ask as just got mum thunderbird and she really likes its cleanlyness and speed but would love it so she can sort work emails, personal emails, her partners emails etc into different folders.

thanks.

i looked and coldn't find any so thats why i ask here

Use the Global Inbox option when you set up a new email account?
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Global_Inbox

That'll mean the emails appear in the Local Folders at the bottom of the accounts tree. Then you could set up some folders and email rules so that emails from [email protected] get sent to Gmail folder and emails from [email protected] get sent to another folder within the Local folders.

Then you can also do identities. http://www.google.co.uk/search?clie...ities++email&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8

You could set Thunderbird up so that when an email for a certain email address arrives it will automatically reply to that email using the email address that received that email.

Hope I've given you enough to go and research a bit and get it sorted.

thanks MarcLister, took a while but managed to get it sorted.

one last thing for now is everytime i send an email for the first time it asks for my password again, not much of an annoyance but enough of one that i'd prefer if it would go. any way to get rid of this?
