When I login to my blueyonder email address via the virginmedia webmail and i can locate all the hundreds of messages that have been sent to my spam folder. However, I do most of my emailing with Thunderbird and not only do i not receive the spam mail (which is good) and i dont seem to be able to locate the spam anywhere in thunderbird (which is bad). I do occasionally receive emails which blueyonder/virgin thinks is spam, but isn't, and so i can only get to it via webmail.

Does thunderbird just permanently delete all spam email denying you the chance to retrieve ones that actually aren't spam?

Thanks.

You don't have a Junk folder?

When you log into your virginmedia webmail go into the settings and change the options so that it pop's spam. Be default it will not pop messages marked as spam which is why you cannot see them in thunderbird.

If you use IMAP for mail instead of POP3, you will see the folders as they are when you login via webmail
