Thunderbird better than windows live mail?

Cheers for that, shall take a look now. I suppose another reason to migrate off my hotmail account. I assume microsoft do this to keep you locked in?

No, no need to migrate off at all. Have a read of THIS. I've been using Thunderbird for years and have never had any problem with it downloading from Hotmail.

Has anyone been able to easily rotate images when you are adding them to your email...? Doing that and resizing them is quite difficult.

That's a good catch, but only if you're happy to be stuck using POP3, which many people will find inconvenient these days.

The IzyMail service lets you use IMAP for a price, but if you're going to go down that route you might as well just forward your Hotmail to a Gmail account and effectively achieve the same thing for free.

Getting fed up with windows live mail. Finding it quite slow and thinking of a change. Is Thunderbird much cop? I've got outlook 2007 but not fussed on that. And I prefer a client on the pc to being completely web based. What do people think?

I use Gmail and Live Mail for home and Microsoft Outlook for work.

I find gmail best online and a minimal, clean UX, Live Mail best for basic home users and Outlook best for work/iphone intergration/customisation . . . I want to like Thunderbird because I am a big fan of Firefox but personally, I find it cluttered and a pain to set up, there are better options out there!
