Thunderbird return email format

Can anyone help me with changing the way my emails are structured when replying using thunderbird.

Currently when I reply to an email it tags my reply onto the end of the original message, this can be missed by the recipient if its a short response.

Any help appreciated

It's in something like Account Options... and you choose Mail Composition. There is an option in there somewhere to "start your reply above the quote".

I've stopped using Thunderbird so can't point you to it exactly.
