Thunderbird screwing up URLs in emails

I get email notifications for another forum. Each email contains a link to the relevant thread.

With Thunderbird (2.0.0.4) everytime I click on the url in the email the result is that I get sent to the overall forum page and not the actual thread.

I've tried logging into my email account through Firefox and the links work OK there so it must be Thunderbird that is manipulating the links.

Does anyone know what could be going on here and why?
 
I haven't noticed the same thing happening on my installation of TB 2.0.0.4

Is it happening with all emailed forum links, or just links from particular forums?
 
Just the one forum. Emails from Overclockers are OK. I cannot understand what Thunderbird can be doing to the links. Like I say, I've logged into my email account online, not Gmail btw, and the links work fine from there. So its Thunderbird screwing up the URLs.

I've already contacted the owner of the forum concerned and he's just said that its not the site. Which I already knew.
