thunderbird showing recipeit not from on start up

annoyingly thunderbird has decided to keep only showing the recipient of email (always me) and no longer who it's from and it resets every start up. i'm on latest version of thunderbird.

anyone know how to stop it from doing this? i change it back to show from and not recipient but each time it's back to reset it.
