thunderbird & webmail

basically want to use thunderbird ...im told u need webmail extension for hotmail gmail etc..... to work so downloaded it installed and cant use wont retrive emails keeps saying cannot connect or dodgy password and lotsa other stuff.....

thats for hot mail and gmail any help please ....

What version of Thunderbird do you have

Gmail now supports the POP standard so you can run that in Thunderbird without needing the Webmail extension for Thunderbird.

For Hotmail have you got both plugins? You need the Webmail AND the Hotmail one to get Hotmail in TB. Same for Yahoo etc you need the Webmail for the basic level stuff and then the email provider specific extension to be able to run that particular account in Thunderbird.

Have you checked out the Webmail Mozdev site for hints on how to set this all up?
