Want to get 10gbe for a pc that has thunderbolt 4 it's a mini itx and don't have spare pcie. I've seen a sabrent one for £156, is this going to be about as cheap as they go and if anyone has used one before do they get the rated speed?

Yes, they are expensive, and run hot. You might be better off finding a used PCIe NIC that will do 10 Gbps.

That would only work here if the OP also bought a thunderbolt to PCIe enclosure, which is an option, but more involved, more expensive and less portable than the Sabrent adapter.
