Thunderbolt Enclosure for an SSD?

I've jumped on the bandwagon and bought a Mac Mini.

I've moved from a very quick i7 build with an SSD primary disc and I've decided that I wanna add a SSD as a primary disc for the mini!

However.... I really don't fancy stripping the mini to bits to put the SSD inside the unibody.. So....

Does anyone know of any good Thunderbolt SSD enclosures?
I'm guessing that the speed difference between an external thunderbolt SSD and an internal SSD would be negligable? Due to the speed of the transfer rate of the thunderbolt port?

Also could I then set the Enclsoure to be the primary boot disc?

I'm new to Macs... Be kind :)

Take a look at the prices of thunderbolt cables, then the prices of enclosures and then consider if it's too much trouble to swap the drive.

Using TB isn't quite as good as an internal drive but you're unlikely to notice.

I had thought about upgrading the internal drive myself but I am a bit nervous about it.
How hard is it to do? Are there any companies that would offer an upgrade service?

Have a look at the iFixit guide.

I'd say it's not for the faint of heart, but straightforward enough if you're careful (and have all the right tools).

I'm using a Seagate Thunderbolt 2.5" Adapter with an M4 256gb SSD, I also bought the Seagate GoFlex 2.5" housing from an auction site so I dont have a bare SSD connected to the Adpater, Using as boot drive and cant notice hardly any speed differences Vs being used as an internal SSD,

Pricey but save opening up my iMac 27" to add a second drive, which I could easily do but I couldnt handle any dust in between my glass and lcd screen it would drive me nuts!!

Already had the SSD, so adapter and cable came to £130... Oh and the SSD Seagate go flex housing was £8 <=== Bargin
