Watching the tennis tonight when saw out of the corner of my eye a little black sliver moving across / round my screen.
Did not realise to begin with what it was, tried brushing it off to realise it was in fact moving about beneath the surface screen!
Realised that if it died as I watched I'd have a nice black line on my nice 24" Benq monitor roughly the size of 4-6 pixels and no (easy) way of getting rid.
Remembered reading that best way to attract them is ,allegedly, to shine a light at the side so did this.( it did appear to be attracted as it walked of the screen towards the light!)
In the hope that leaving the light on and turning the screen and computer off would ensure that that the little bug. .. would at least die trying to get to the light, switched of and left things to develop.
Am leaving till morning and keeping fingers crossed !
You have been warned ! ! !

Theres one under your pc monitor!

Switched on tonight - NO sign of the thing :)

I assume that it's somewhere in there 'dead' :( (note the sensitive side there) but not visible :D (bug.... the sensitive side - it could have damaged my monitor)

Ruddy nightmare when a £400 monitor can be ruined by such a (small) insect

-will look to ensure windows/doors stay shut next time we get the really warm weather. (plus will keep fingers crossed and bright light near to hand just in case.)
