Apologies if there is already a thunder thread for this year!

Quite windy in early hours in Southampton, but it eased off around 0900, up unusually early and thought about a ride until I saw scattered thunderstorms were expected around 1130.

Band moving through, roughly Bridport to Reading.

Had it move through here about an hour ago - some quite big bangs but sporadic and seems to have quickly moved on.
Yeah, seems I spoke too soon about wind dying down, we've just had some 50mph gusts!

Good job I didn't head out for a ride, just remembered we have a food delivery coming shortly.

Earlier it looked like the rain had passed through Hampshire much quicker, but now more rain in area and odd rumble of thunder.

The French storm is starting to cross The English Channel...

I love a good storm every now and again, but not if it's in the middle of the night!

Good luck with the 5cm hailstones, if they reach south east England.

Hastings in the firing line?

Warning for Thursday 31st July 1000-2100 in the south east.

Kicking off around Winchester and Chichester.

Not heard a single rumble reaching east Southampton though.

Thunder finally arrived locally in last hour, bit of heavy rain now gone, back to rumbles in distance.

Sporadic lighting across the south at the moment - could hear it faintly in the distance despite so far none within a few miles of me.

Thought today felt a bit thundery.
I had headphones on while gaming a while ago and I wondered if I hear thunder, apparently there's been a handful a strikes near Eastleigh showing on

Possible thunder this afternoon, it's all kicking off south of Brum with ~5 strikes a few minutes ago! :p

A band of thunder has moved towards Birmingham from the south coast, during the afternoon, not loads but more than on Wednesday.

There was the odd strike in Hampshire towards Portsmouth, but I didn't hear it in SO18.
