THX optimizer surround sound coming from the front speakers- any ideas pls

Hi,

When I ran the THX Optimizer audio tests using the star Wars dvds. The fr left, fr right and center speakers test fine. But when it comes to the SR and SL the sound comes from the front speakers. When it comes to the bass test, it is totally silent.

I am using the ps3 as the blu-ray player. The Amp is Sony STR DN1030. The bass is a Camb minx x301.

The amp test tones play properly in the right positions.

Thanks for the reply. In video settings/BD-audio output format I set it to bitstream

But when I go into audio output settings then select the connection on the tv or amp to hdmi then automatic it then says output format linear pcm 2 channel.

The ps3 is connected to the amp via hdmi.

Hi,
BD-audio output format I set it to bitstream. I have tried resetting the ps3, but it still keeps defaulting to 2 channel stereo

deccied to invest in a new amp and player.

Sorry to bump an old thread. I thought if I rest the ps3 that would solve the problem. but it didn't.
