i hope this is the right forum for it, since its not exactly a computer (although not too far from it).

I recently signed up for my next OU course and its a mathmatics one that requires the use of a graphical calc, and it recomends a Ti-83 plus graphical calculator. what i want to know is, where is a decent place to buy one of these (preferably with a cable to connect it to my pc)? i know OCUK dont allow links to competitors, but i bet there are lots of sites out there which sell this calculator, and dont sell anything that OCUK sell, so arnt a competitor.

also, has any1 here got a graphical calculator like the one i mentioned that has tried to program a game like mario for it? ive seen there are a fair few games for the ti-83 plus since it can be programed in its own code, machine code, assembly language, or C.

I've got this one and a Ti-89 as well. It's a god machine and is pretty much considered standard equipment at my school. My '89 came with a USB cable, I don't know what they're shipping with the '83s these days as I got mine ages ago but they might come with USB as well. Check an auction site as they're all over the place.

Games can be downloaded or transferred from someone else's machine. Most people seem to have a few games. Carry your transfer cable and ask around to see if anybody'll give you any.

I've written some programs for it but never a complex one like Mario. My sk1llz aren't that l337. :p Mine have been more along the line of programs borne of necessity and laziness, i.e. give the program a diameter and it'll give you the area.
