Personally I find it somewhat amusing (and annoying) that NVIDIA is publicly saying Tie instead of Ti.
I mean are they openingly admitting that they are tied with AMD? what the hell lol.
Nearly everyone I know has always referred to them as Ti card's.

/rant off. :o  :D

Yeah everyone I've ever heard including nVidia employees in the past have said T I. Though it isn't incorrect the way a couple of nVidia PR people are saying it as it is short of titanium and/or titanium edition which has occasionally been referred to as TiE in nVidia docs.

Always said "Tie" myself. In my brain if it was T I it would be written as TI or T.I.

Always thought the whole nu-vidia (rather than en-vidia) was weirder though.

I've always pronounced it as two letters T i. Surely though, the correct pronunciation depends where the name actually comes from???

If Ti is short for Titanium then it should be pronounced Tie.

However, if the Ti name came from the chemical symbol for Titanium then it should be pronounced as two letters T i because the chemical elements are read as letters not words.

Agreed, however it is short for titanium but I've never heard of anyone referring to titanium using the short form of tie. Only the full name or T. I.
