I have just been looking at the TI4600 128mg card on bay and it has a higher core & memory speed then my 9550. I know the TI4600 are old but it looks like it out performs my current card.

Is it wise to replace my 9550 or am i missing somthing here?

Please could you put me int he correct dirrection.

Thanks Lee

When released the Ti4600 was an amazing card. It was right at the top - nothing could touch it

Unfortunately that was four years ago and it is lacking a large number of features required today. Indeed, it is only a DX8.1 card, not a DX9 card like yours

There's more to a cards performance than core speed and memory speed too. I'd personally keep your 9550

In terms of raw performance the Ti4600 probably out performs the 9550, however like aj said, it's lacking a lot of features needed today, so you'd be wise to retain your current card.

Thanks guys i had a ti4200 years ago so the ti4600 was top notch, just wanting somthing that is good and not expensive.

Looking @ 9800pro on bay but they going for daft prices.

what would you recomend 4 my current config to get the best out of it?

thanks

After 200 more posts you can access the MM and get a 9800Pro for about £55 :)

What kind of budget do you have? A 6600GT or a 6800nu would be a good choice for about £100

I spent £49 on my 9550 and it runs the games I play like solider of fortune 2 & spearhead both on line. I have got myself a 19" tft and want to run @ full res. my budget is very limited at £100 max or G/Freind & 6month old daughter would kill me.

help would be highly appriciated

For £100 max get the 6800 (just the standard one without any prefix after the name, like: "ASUS N6800/TD/512M Geforce 6800 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X"
