"Tigermoth movie"

I remember watching a great film years and years ago where a young kid rebuilds a bi-wing tigermoth plane with some grumpy old man. Meanwhile being bullied by the local mob.

I can't figure out what it was? Any ideas?

No, but I think I've seen it. Seem to remember the kid builds his own "simulator" fuselage with stick and pedals etc? Set somewhere hot?

lol i remeber this, he used part of his antique chair (the kid) to build a part of it.
no idea on the name though.

Only place was in the USA and it was on a VHS tape!
