Hi

I was considering buying a pair of
Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (11227-00-40G)

and installing them in my
Asus Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition Intel X79 (Socket 2011) DDR3 Motherboard

Would these fit? I noticed theres not a lot of clearance with the top pci-e slot and the memory clips (there's only 2 16x slots so they have to go in slot 1 and 3)

for the time being I will use them 'as is' but will hopefully have them watercooled in th forseable future.

thanks
Gary

Thanks whyscotty, would the top card fit ok, I just thought it might be a tight fit with the plastic bits on the graphics card.

Thanks whyscotty, I've just seen a youtube vid that shows the card from 360 deg and it looks ok, so I'll go ahead, thanks for the replies:)

Should be fine, iirc the only cards that ever really caused issues like this were the old lightnings that had the reactor core on them.

Fairly sure you should be able to do slots 1&5 on the be at 16/16, this would also give the cards more breathing room.
